FAQs

GETTING STARTED

  • We recommend 2-4 times per week for optimal results, but it depends on your goals and fitness level.

  • Just bring a water bottle and grip socks (available for purchase at the studio if needed).

  • Many clients notice improvements in strength, flexibility, and posture within a few weeks of consistent practice.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

  • Reformer Pilates is a low-impact, full-body workout performed on a machine called a reformer. It focuses on strength, flexibility, and core stability through controlled movements and resistance-based exercises.

  • Reformer Pilates uses a sliding carriage, springs, and pulleys to add resistance, making it more dynamic and versatile compared to Mat Pilates, which relies on body weight and small equipment like resistance bands.

SAUNAS

  • Infrared saunas don’t just heat the air around you. Instead, infrared wavelengths penetrate the body directly, creating a deeper warmth at a lower temperature.

  • This deep-penetrating warmth reaches muscles, joints and soft tissue more effectively than traditional heating.

The benefits go beyond relaxation. Infrared therapy can help ease muscle tension, improve circulation, support detoxification and promote faster recovery from exercise or stress.

Near infrared is also linked with improved skin health, wound healing and cellular repair.

The result is a complete body experience that raises core temperature and restores balance from the inside out.

  • Truthfully, there’s no one true answer to this question. The length you stay in a sauna truly depends on personal preference, and how long you would like to remain in the heat.

When starting off in an infrared sauna, you may only want to stay in there for 10-15 minutes while you get used to the intense heat. After you do this for a little while, you can gradually increase your sessions to 30-40 minutes.

  • For the Newbies

If you’re new to the infrared sauna game, start slow and steady. The best temp for infrared sauna beginners is between 40°C to 45°C. This range is gentle enough for your body to get used to the heat while still providing those awesome benefits.

    For the Regulars

Got a few sessions under your belt? Time to turn up the heat! The best temperature for infrared sauna sessions for regular users is around 50°C to 55°C. This range helps you sweat out toxins, relax those muscles, and feel oh-so-good.

    Pushing the Limits

Now, we love a good sweat, but safety first! The maximum safe temp is about 66°C. Going higher might sound tempting, but it can be too intense and less beneficial. Stick within the safe zone for the best experience.

  • When you enter an infrared sauna, clothing is key. If you are too covered, the lights will have trouble penetrating your skin, and you won’t reap all of the benefits your far infrared sauna has to offer.

To receive the full benefits of the infrared rays, it’s best to enjoy your sauna session naked. But we do understand that this is not always possible. We suggest opting for swimwear or underwear.

If you prefer to be a little more covered, you can wear a loose lightweight cotton T-shirt and shorts, but you need to remember that this can hinder the full infrared light from penetrating your skin.

Regardless of what you decide to wear, you will need to bring a towel to sit or lie on to absorb sweat and maintain hygiene. We also recommend that you go in barefoot.

Remember to remove all jewellery before getting in the sauna as metal can burn once it heats up.

    • Bring a towel & water bottle.

    • We offer a towel hire service for $10 in studio.

    • If you can avoid showering after, do so for at least 30 minutes.

    • Avoid eating, caffeine, alcohol or other stimulants for at least one hour prior.

    • Pop a hair mask in to protect your hair.

    • Bring a dry brush or gua sha for ultimate self care.
